Little owls

I just made these little guys up and think they came out well.  Although they did give me quite a few problems and I had to change them a few times until I settled on this.  I know I haven't been on here much but what with the sunny weather I have been taking advantage of it.  Mostly I have just been sketching out new ideas for future projects.  And lots and lots of cleaning and organizing nothing really fun or to post about.  Hopefully these little guys will be going to the shop to find homes of their own or they'll be over taking my house.

Tears of a dragon

This is my second page done I used a lot of different techniques and materials natural paper (thick handmade with fibers), watercolor, crayons (white only as a resistant to the watercolors), markers, embossing powder.  Oh and I did some hand sewing on the dragon and a tip for sewing on paper if you can, use a sewing machine it is much easier.  I had opted to do hand sewing which proved to be very tricky because unlike fabric you can't keep poking it until you find the right spot, because the paper will tear so you sort of have to well know where the needle will come through for sure.  Which I did not succeed at 100% of the time but for the most part I kept it on the right path, but it wasn't easy.
I had a lot of fun with this one and just went through all of my supplies forgetting what I actually had, so it was like playing with new stuff.
I made this for my uncle who passed away recently I thought I would write something with it but in the end I felt it didn't need words.

Art Journaling

I have decided to start an art journal recently I only have one page done for now, but I find them very addicting.  I love making things I know I can complete in a week or less it's nice doing these quick pages.  My goal is to do at least a page a week I have a few ideas for new ones so many in fact I find myself thinking of the next while completing the one I have started.  Umm for this one I used wall paper samples I got for free for the leaves color pencils and water color for most of it.  I kept it pretty simple.

Pencile case

I was just playing around with some left over scrap fabric and ended up with these little pouches I'm gonna use them to hold my sketch pencils and pens.  But they would be great for anything little or makeup bag.

Purse Orgainazer

I had been meaning to make one of these for ages because most of my bags are big and floppy or I really like to carry vintage as well.  and with big bags it's like a black hole once it goes in I might not find it for months.  Or with my vintage bags sure their small and more compact but without this there is lots of stacking and pulling everything out to get to one thing.  These  are truly amazing and I love them so much.  I used a place mat from world market for about $2.00 folded in half and then folded the half's up again like this.  You could easily use fabric but I got this idea online and well I'm lazy and doing it this way it took about five minutes.
I like it because it has pockets on both sides I did put a button closer on it but I seldom use it closed up like this.
See it's great in floppy bags no more digging in the abyss.  Yaaay!
No more stacking and stacking and more stacking I'm telling you your gonna love it.

Hand Warmers

I whipped these up for a christmas present, and they are really simple to make.  Great for any beginner all you need is fabric of your choice, rice, thread and sewing machine.  I'm going be to making a few of these for myself.  If you use cotton fabric (like quilting you could also use them as hot and cold packs.)  Just place them in the freezer for cold pack or nuke them in the microwave for about 15 seconds for hot.  I used flannel for the ones I made so it would stay warmer longer they are suppose to stay warm for up to an hour and I thought they would be nice for when I'm walking.

Vintage flowers 2

I did finish my first quilt by christmas and it came out really nice and is very warm and cozy.  I'm a bit jealous because none of our other blankets are as nice guess it means I'll have to hit the sewing machine again and whip one up for myself.  But not yet I want to sit back and do some projects I had to put off.  So here it is I had to hand tac everything down because my quilter friend told me my fabric was to thick to top stitch with a sewing machine she thought it would bunch hence all the x's.
But even so I think it came out nice and can't wait to make another one the proper way, well hopefully.
