Vintage flowers 2

I did finish my first quilt by christmas and it came out really nice and is very warm and cozy.  I'm a bit jealous because none of our other blankets are as nice guess it means I'll have to hit the sewing machine again and whip one up for myself.  But not yet I want to sit back and do some projects I had to put off.  So here it is I had to hand tac everything down because my quilter friend told me my fabric was to thick to top stitch with a sewing machine she thought it would bunch hence all the x's.
But even so I think it came out nice and can't wait to make another one the proper way, well hopefully.

Glitter

The holidays were mega busy this year and I am just now relaxing after all the festivities.  I saw this post on pintrest and couldn't help myself it was on how to glitter everything basically it is one part mode podge to two parts glitter.  If you don't have mode podge no worries just take some elmers glue and add just a bit of water you still want it to be thick not runny (unless your putting it over paper then runny may be good.)
I went rummaging about my house and found these farm animals that my nephews used to play with but now don't see the light of day.  I painted them white first and covered them in the gluey mixture mentioned above.  I have to say the ones done with the fine glitter worked much better and only had to put two or three coats on.  The hippo the blue one I used chunky flat glitter and it took a lot more work but it looks fab!  I made these for christmas ornaments for my friends who are glittered obsessed for a good laugh.  Oh an add plus the glitter really truly does not rub off, for anyone who doesn't want to carry the shine on outside of the house.

Cute pouch

I have been busy this month and meant to update sooner, hopefully I'll be able to get all my holiday projects posted.  For now I just finished sewing up these two cute pouches for my friends, that I got off (www.noodle-head.com).  Okay this pattern is free and really simple to follow, I have never until now put in a zipper the right way without pulling it out and sewing again.  So for any first time sewer's out there I really recommend this.  I'm having a makers christmas this year and find myself busy almost everyday trying to get everything finished.  Although today I'm taking a bit of a break making some ornaments but they are not very time consuming and should they turn out as I hope I'll have them up soon enough.
